Citizens, Community and Safety Network Event

The Citizens, Community and Safety Network will be meeting on the 23rd March.

A representative from the Safer Birmingham Partnership will be attending the meeting to provide an update on the Partnership's Final Operating Model and to discuss future project funding.

A discussion will also take place around the impact of the funding cuts on the voluntary sector and its beneficiaries.

What freedoms and/or support does the voluntary sector need to deliver the Big Society "vision"?

David Cameron's Big Society vision has come under pressure over the last two weeks, with key voluntary sector figures such as Dame Elizabeth Hoodless (Executive Director of CSV) claiming that funding cuts to the voluntary sector are undermining the Big Society agenda.

Clinks event Tuesday 1st February (Birmingham): two dynamic participatory consultation events in one day for organisations contributing to community safety, victim support, crime prevention and re-offending

Thursday 1st July 2010 - Surveillance Camera Consultation

The network hosted a meeting to discuss the installation of surveillance cameras in a specific locality in Birmingham in response to the concerns that have been raised by voluntary sector organisations.

Thursday 20th May 2010 - Hot Topic: Total Place

Each of the Assembly's thematic networks met in May to explore how the voluntary and community sector can engage and support Birmingham's Total Place Priorities.

Tuesday 30th March 2010 - Network meeting

The network met to revisit the Safer Birmingham Partnership's priorities and to map voluntary sector involvement across the workstreams of the partnership.

Tuesday 31st March 2009 - Introducing the Safer Birmingham Partnership

This is the first meeting of the Citizens, Communities and Safety Network and provided an opportunity for members to hear about, and comment on, the new Safer Birmingham Partnership.
