Local Area Agreement Report

On the 29th January over a hundred third sector organisations attended an event organised by the Third Sector Assembly to participate in discussions over the Local Area Agreement (LAA). These indicated five common issues about the development of the LAA and the role of the Third Sector within its delivery.

• Voluntary Action- what will the impact of forcing people into work have on volunteering?
• Sustainability - some long standing organisations with good local reputations of delivery have been denied funding. There needs to be respected, recognised, resourced
• Changing demographic -The LAA needs to reflect the needs of the city in 2020
• The cross cutting nature of the Third Sector
• How is the value of the contribution of the Third Sector measured?
