Invitation to Tender for: Two Way Dialogue - Training Community Activists and Policy Makers 2010 - 2011

The purpose of this tender is to develop an activity training active citizens in the community and members of staff from key organisations so that there is a common understanding on the difficulties facing community activists in getting their voice heard and the need for decision making partners to listen to the views of community activists and give good feedback even if they cannot act on the community suggestions.

The activity will focus on:

  • Increasing skills, knowledge and confidence of individuals and groups
  • Supporting people and community organisations in developing an understanding of the barriers to participation and strategies and methods for recognising and overcoming such barriers
  • Refocusing public agency partners ways of working, to become more open to community influence and optimise their potential to respond to that influence
  • To raise involvement of disadvantaged and underrepresented groups

The deadline is mid-day an Friday 21st May 2010. A panel of Be Birmingham assessors will assess the tenders and short-listed organisations will be invited to an interview on week beginning 24th May 2010 (final date to be confirmed).
