Hi, my nam
e is Lisa Martinali and I am the Champion for the Children & Young People Network (VCS Matters) of the Third Sector Assembly.
Over the last couple of years I have become increasingly passionate about getting "more involved" to support the Third Sector. This has mainly been due to the changing environment, in which we now work, and the challenges and opportunities that we face on a day-to-day basis.
No-one ever said it was going to be easy, however the opportunities that have arisen for the Third Sector to play a more active part locally has been assisted with the establishement of the Third Sector Assembly. My role as Champion for VCS Matters will assist in raising the profile of the excellent work that is undertaken by community and voluntary organisations and I am to maximise the opportunities for our sector to be genuinely involved in discussions that set the agenda for children and young people within Birmingham.
As Director of Castle Vale Community Regeneration Services I am more than aware of the issues the sector; both third and children and young people face and I look forward to help shaping, with support and unput from others, our key priorities to enable a "thriving third sector" for children and young people.
