Assembly to develop its position on the 'worklessness' agenda

Government keep announcing new schemes to tackle 'worklessness'. But what does that word actually mean? Politicians seem to have forgotten that only a third of the population can actually work. Others face huge barriers to employment.

The Assembly's response is to bring people together to discuss worklessness from a third sector perspective and to define it on our terms. Two working lunches in early April will result in a position statement. We will then send the message, loud and clear to central government, the local authority and the commissioners. If you have a view on this topic, please come along. See the news & events section for details.
