What's New

Meet Marcos the Assembly GorillaMarcos the Assembly gorilla

The character Marcos the Assembly Gorilla was created in response to delegates' ideas about how the Assembly should operate at the launch in July 2007.

Amongst a big list of ideas, delegates asked for:

  • Guerrilla style meetings - ie less formal, more spontaneous and focussed on direct action
  • For unique marketing to get people involved, including one suggestion for a 'virtual avatar' like Max Headroom who could be a voice of the Assembly

Making a pun out of the word guerrilla / gorilla, we developed a character that has his own column in Update.

Marcos' fun but thoughtful articles which set down some of the issues that we are face in the sector. If you'd like to sample his writings, have a look at any edition of Update at: http://www.bvsc.org/Policy/update-magazine
